The mission of our Teen Center is to strengthen the self-efficacy and resiliency of community youth through educational support and positive youth development programs.
We reside in the historic Community Building in the center of town, where we have over 10,000 square feet of specially designed program space to serve our teens. LATC is operationally funded by Los Alamos County, and administrated by The Family YMCA. Additionally, we have a myriad of other project partners and donors that help make our programs possible.
Facilities include: Music recording studio, music performance space, movie/gaming room, 2 computer labs, art studio, yoga studio, snack bar, classrooms, and an outdoor deck with amazing views.
LATC has various enrichment programs, activities, events and trainings offered free to teens, in addition to youth-led projects that allow teens to impact their community.
We welcome your ideas and requests for new programming, and encourage you to come by and see what programs we are currently offering.
See a list programs and activities below.
Los Alamos Teen Center is free for all high school age teenagers living in and/or attending school in Los Alamso County. High school age home school students and teens working on their GED are welcome as well. "High school age" is defined as the summer after 8th grade through the summer after high school graduation (or the home school equivalent).
